The Ultimate Setting Powder

The Ambient Light powders and blushes from Hourglass have what some would call a cult following. The powders were first released back in 2013 to a lot of hoopla and praise with the blushes following suite soon after. Ever since they have been getting lots of love in the beauty community. A few weeks back during a girls shopping day I finally gave in and tested out the range. I had never actually looked at them before since they are a bit expensive at $45 dollars for the powder and $35 for the blushes but I was in the "Treat Yo Self" kind of mood.

I ended up picking the shade Diffused Light which is a soft warm pale yellow. Its a very faint yellow undertone and what I was really looking for was something to set my under eye concealer and help brighten that area (yellow toned powders are ideal for this).  The powder itself is so silky smooth, you can really tell it's a quality product and definitely worth the price tag. This does have somewhat of a shimmer in it but the shimmer is so fine that when applied you get this wonderfully lite from within look. I have been using this everyday since picking it up and I don't think I will ever be able to go with out it! I feel it really helps to diffuse the look of my under eye skin smoothing and softening it out , just giving it a luminous brightening effect.

Now all I can think about is going back for the blush and powder palettes!  Have you ever tried this line before? What are your favorite setting powders? I would love to hear from you!
