Korres Concealer

Quercetin & Oak Antiageing & Antiwrinkle Concealer

I have used Korres products on and off over the years and a while back picked up a few bits from a sale on Hautelook. This was one of those items. The Quercetin &Oak Antiaging concealer is a concealer/corrector that has a salmon/orange under tone to help hide dark circles. The formulation is nice and emollient so it blends out really well. This is formulated to be an antiaging concealer and promises improvement of skin texture and fine lines. Personally I don't usually buy into all the anti-aging skin care esc promises that make up brands promise you with. I look to my actual skin care products for these things.

BIODERMA Sensibio H2O

BIODERMA Sensibio H2O

Bioderma is one of those cult brands that has been around forever. The incredibly popular Sensibio H2O is a cleansing water/makeup remover and was really one of the first of its kind. Extremely popular with professional make up artist and the French alike. Unfortunately for those of us residing in the United States the only way to get our hands on this product was through eBay or amazon with an inflated price. Now thanks to the website BeautyLish.com Bioderma is available in the US! It sold out pretty fast when they first debuted but I placed an order as soon as they restocked.

Deborah Lippmann Sweet Life

A Spring Nail of the Day

I have found the perfect shade of polish to wear this spring and surprise surprise it's from Deborah Lippmann. Her polishes are just such good quality I cant help but fall in love. This is the shade Sweet Life a creme formula; in the bottle the color tends to look more pink but once on the nails its the perfect muted lilac purple. Its subtle enough to wear in more conservative work environments but still brings a pop of spring to your nails. I only used two coats of Sweet Life and a clear top coat from Sally Hansen.

If you are intersted in testing out Deborah Lippmann nail polishses HSN currently has quite a few on sale as low as $9 (check them out here)! Also you can check out 6pm.com for more discounted polishes from Lippmann.  For reference retail is usually $18-$20.

PMD Device

This year I have vowed to invest more time and effort into my skincare routine so i am constantly looking for ways of improving it. I heard about PMD a year or so ago and never really wanted to spend the money on the device. A while back one of my besties gave me a heads up that Michelle Money (youtuber/bachelor contestant/makeup artist) was having a 50% off coupon code for GetPMD.com . I pretty much immediately jumped online and picked the original version up. I thought I would do a little mini series on this device and share my thoughts and a few pictures on my skins improvement. This will be my first post which will give a little background on the device and my skin condition. AND because I'm feeling brave I'll share my barefaced before photos.

Gucci Flora Gorgeous Gardenia

Seasons are changing and recently I have been wanting to change up my perfume selection. I have two main fragrances I typically reach for, Body by Burberry and  Amber Musk by Aerin. I love both of these scents but have been craving something a bit more floral for spring. Not knowing what I wanted I scoped out the fragrance wall at Sephora. I think i smelt 25 different perfumes and continually came back to this one by Gucci.

I'm pretty terrible at describing fragrances so her is an over view from Sephora.

Gorgeous Gardenia is a paean to the lightness of the shrub’s first blossom and the addictive richness of it in full bloom—the result is gorgeously feminine. A sparkling prelude of succulent red berries and juicy pear give way to an opulent floral heart. The plushness of gardenia petals is enhanced by the creamy warmth of frangipani flower, underlain by the delectable aroma of patchouli and brown sugar. The woman who chooses to wear this fragrance exudes a sultry sensuality that is both lush and enticing. Men are drawn to her as bees are to a blossoming flower.

The Flora Garden Collection is a bouquet of scents inspired by the House’s renowned Flora pattern. Gucci Creative Director Frida Giannini explains: “With Flora by Gucci, I wanted to express the loveliness of the Flora woman: charming, romantic, and optimistic."

Notes:Red Berries, Pear, White Gardenia, Frangipani Flower, Patchouli, Brown Sugar Accord.

Often times when I hear about a floral fragrance I think of a very powdery scent but that is not the case with Gorgeous Gardenia. Its uplifting and sweet smelling with out being over powering. The perfect addition to my fragrance collection for spring!

Sephora Cream Lip Stain

It's not too often that I try out the Sephora brand of cosmetics, usually if I'm hitting up the store its to check out the bevy of  other brands available. Recently I have been hearing good things about Sephora's cream lip stains... ALL.OVER.THE.BLOGOSPHERE. When I was out on a girls shopping trip I spotted the stand of these in Sephora and explained to my friend just how much everyone has been loving them.. so we both decided to pick one up (coincidentally ..or not.. in the same shade.)

What I'm Reading

Recent Book Purchases

I was planning on sharing my March Boxycharm with you all but it still hasn't come in the mail yet. I feel like I get it so late in the month... its kind of a bummer but oh well.  Instead I thought I would do a quick post on a few books I recently picked up during my last Barnes and Nobles trip. It's been a couple of months since I finished my last book and wanted to re-stock. These are all books I have been wanting to read for a while and finally got around to purchasing. I am most excited to read the Goldfinch and plan on starting it this week! What are you currently reading?! I love a good book recommendation!

I told my self that in the month of March I was going on a "no buy" restriction. Well that lasted for about a whole week. What got me was the launch of Rachel Zoe's Box of Style. I have been obsessed with Zoe since she was on bravo and love her style so I was really intrigued by this box. Its a seasonal subscription box that promises luxury good worth over $300 for just $100 dollars. This is the first non beauty related subscription box I have signed up for but I can't imagine a better one to try! I will have to let you know how I like this one... first box ships April 1st. Would you sign up for this box?!

{This bracelet will be in the spring box. From Miansai and valued at $200.}

Recent Purchases

Clothing Haul

Recent Purchases

It's been a while since I did my last "Recent Purchases" post so I thought it was high time I did another one. I picked up a few new pieces to add into my wardrobe to get me through spring. A lot of them came from the recent Piperlime sale (they had an extra 50% off final sale).

1. McGuire Pirelli Ankle Roll Jean - I have been searching for a good pair of ripped up jeans to wear for more casual looks on the weekend and thought these had the perfect balance of distress.

2. Joa Sheer Stripe Top - This top is so cute! Perfect to throw on a cute bralette or a tank. A great addition for spring and summer.

3. Aryn K Flippy Skirt - I have never had a skirt with this shape before but felt like reaching out of my comfort zone. I'm glad a did because its the perfect girly flair and the color is bright and fun for spring!

4. Piperlime Collection Asymmetrical Wrap Skirt -  The asymmetrical style of this skirt is uber flattering and blue floral print is will look great with just about anything.

5. Tipped Tweed Skirt - Loft has long been a staple to shop for business to weekend wear. You can often find great deals and their clothes fit well and are great quality. A lot of times I can find pieces for even cheaper than clothing from H & M and Forever 21.  Even though this skirt is tweed I think it will make the perfect transitional piece into spring.

6. "Will Work for Champs" Athletic Sweater - Southward apparel has the most comfortable sweaters, Tees and tanks that you will ever try on! Seriously I love this line. I could help but pick this sweater up for easy weekend wear.

7. French Connection Ellis - These shoes are so adorable, I love French Connection their style is classic cool. Now these shoes are more for Fall and Winter but I couldn't pass up this deal... I got them for $32!!!

Mini Stila Haul

Stay All Day Concealer and Bronzer

Stila isn't a brand that I try out too often, I know they have a lot of great products and even have a cult following for a single eye shadow shade (kitten which I also picked up in a special kit that I will be sharing with you all soon). I recently ran out of my studio gear concealer and decided to try out the stay all day concealer from Stila as a replacement. I purchased a few other bits one of which was this  stay all day bronzer in dark... which was in the sale section for $15.

Glam Glow Mud Masks

Gift Sexy Set

Glam Glow is one of those brands that hit the market (in 2011 to be exact) and continues to make a huge impact in the skincare industry. All I hear about is how amazing their masks are. This Gift Sexy set was the holiday gift set that came out for Christmas 2014. Back at the beginning of February I saw this was on sale through Ruelala (one of my favorite discount websites... I highly recommend checking it out) for $55 original retail was $69 and the value of this set was $118. I had been dying to try out these masks and thought this was the perfect opportunity to try out a few of their choices for a reasonable price.

ThirstyMud  Hydrating Treatment- This was the full-size (50g)product in this gift set and originally It wasn't the one I was most excited to try out. BUT... It is hands down my favorite out of the 3. This mask gives instant hydration to the skin and can be warn for a 20 minute quick boost or as an overnight intense hydrating mask. The latter is my favorite way to use this mask. A couple of nights a week I will use this overnight and I always wake up with the most hydrated healthy looking skin. Its become an obsession of mine to use this mask. It isn't the least bit greasy so no worries for you oily skinned girls (or boys) I love the scent of this product too, It smells of coconut and the tropics.

YouthMud Tinglexfoliate Treatment - This mask is meant to be anti aging, It has high powered antioxidants and gives a tightening effect to the skin. The exfoliating aspect of this mask leaves your skin brighter and softer. All of these are essential in keeping your skins youthful appearance.  I use a thin layer of this all over my face, let it sit till dry (about 10 minutes and you will feel the tightening of your skin almost instantly) then wash off with warm water. While washing off be sure to gently rub in circular motion as this is the key time to use the exfoliation part of the mask.

Supermud Clearing Treatment - I was most excited to try this treatment out. I always have issues with clogged pores and had high hopes this would a product to help combat my pesky spots.  It does live up to expectations and really pulls all of the oils out of your pores to leave you with smooth and cleared skin. You apply this in a think layer and let it dry completely, you will start to see little dark spots appear where the oils are being drawn out of the pores. If your into getting instant gratification in skin care I think you will like this mask a lot. My favorite way to use is on my nose and on any spots that are popping up. It dries out any pesky problem spots in minutes.

In all I was really pleased with these masks from GLAMGLOW. They are a bit expensive but are definitely worth it. They seem to have a mask for every skin problem and even offer the small sizes for $19 if you want to test them out before going for the full size. Check out all the products at Sephora.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Diffused Light

The Ultimate Setting Powder

The Ambient Light powders and blushes from Hourglass have what some would call a cult following. The powders were first released back in 2013 to a lot of hoopla and praise with the blushes following suite soon after. Ever since they have been getting lots of love in the beauty community. A few weeks back during a girls shopping day I finally gave in and tested out the range. I had never actually looked at them before since they are a bit expensive at $45 dollars for the powder and $35 for the blushes but I was in the "Treat Yo Self" kind of mood.

February Favorites

February Favorites

I can't believe we are already well into March!  I picked up a lot of new products towards the end of February but didn't want to include them in my favorites since I am still testing them out. You will mostly see these products pop up through the month of March though. With that said lets get into my most used/favorite beauty products for the month of February!

Argan Head to Toe Radiance Duo

Josie Maran

I have been a fan of Josie Maran’s products for some time now… loving her Argan oil based products. I saw this duo of her skin and hair oils with an added shimmer. I though why not test them out in these smaller sizes before jumping in for full size products.
