August BoxyCharm

Gorgeous Globetrotter

This post is a little late seeing as we are on the tail end of August and heading into September but I still wanted to get this up and share my thoughts on the August Boxycharm Box. (If you are new to my blog then check out some of my other boxycharm posts here.)

I was really pleased with this months box, it came with a bunch of goodies that are sure to please pretty much anyone who got the box.  The best item in the box had to be the Mica Beauty gel eyeliner. It is probably the blackest gel eyeliner I have ever tried and glides on your eyelid so smoothly.

The box also came with an eyeliner brush, leave in conditioner for  hair, and a cream highlight. All of these didn't disappoint and will surely get lots of use.

Now for the item I was most excited about and most disappointed by. Oh coastal scents reveal 3 palette, I had high hopes for you... when I opened this one up I was excited we previously received the reveal 2 palette and it was wonderful but I was a bit disappointed when I started swatching the colors. Some had nice pigmentation but about half the palette did not have very excellent color pay off at all. You can see from the swatch pictures that a few of them look quite chalky and patchy.

Overall I think this was still a good box and I can't wait to see what comes in my September box!

Summer Skincare Favorites

Skin care is important all year round but different seasons means different skincare needs through out the year. I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to share the products I love to add into my normal routine during summer. Be sure and check out my full video too!

SPF SPF SPF!  I really can't say it enough, it is extremely important to protect your skin from sun damage and wearing a daily SPF is key. It has only been recently that I have been on the daily spf  kick. Growing up I was a sun lover and was on summer league swim teams and spent a lot of time soaking the sun. Now I know the importance of SPF and can't preach it enough. My current favorite SPF is one from Mary Kay. I love this because it doesn't smell like your usual spf, instead it smells fresh and light much like the rest of the Mary Kay skincare. Its moisturizing and protecting all in one!

For  extended time in the sun I use an SPF 50 or higher and always make sure I reapply on a regular basis. I tend to use the sport formulas because they last longer and the spray bottle is always the easiest to use!

So now that I have covered the SPF here are the two items I use to treat my skin if I spent too much time in the sun. Both are hydrating, cooling and soothing.

Peter Thomas Roth Cucumber Gel Mask
*Mary Kay Indulge Soothing Eye Gel

Not able to hit the beach this year? No worries you can still look perfectly tanned and toned in your bikini by your local pool. These are my go to products for exfoliating, firming skin, and self tanning.

*Mary Kay Time Wise Microdermabrasion
Tan Towel

Disclaimer: *products were gifted to me, as always all opinions are my own.

Morphe Cream Eyeshadow

Over the last year Morphe Brushes has exploded in popularity. If you would have asked me about the brand a year ago I probably wouldn't have heard much about them. Now they are known for their great quality products at crazy affordable prices! I have tried their brushes and powder eyeshadows and love the quality so I decided to try out the cream eyeshadows as well.

I typically don't reach for a cream eyeshadow all that often having oily skin and living in a humid climate means most cream formulas crease with in an hour on my lids. That's not the case with these cream shadows! The formulation of these are so light you don't even feel like you are wearing anything and since you don't need a thick layer to get the amazing color pay off it wont crease on your eyelids. The finish is a radiant almost wet appearance that gives a beautiful glossy look. I have used these as eyeliners or as a base to powder shadows and have loved them.

They wear extremely well, like I said no creasing and lasts on my eyes through the entire work day. Right now these are on sale for 4.99 over on Morphe's website. A total steal! The shades I picked up are Slick ( a bronze shade), Blew (a turquoise shade), and smash (a graphite silver shade).

July Favorites

July has come and gone meaning its time for another monthly favorites video! I didn't have that many products this month since I spent most of the month traveling I had to narrow down my products to a few that I knew would get the job done! I hope you enjoy my July favorites!
