Easy Halloween Look

Half Face Sugar Skull

Im back with another super easy halloween tutorial just in time for all your goolish weekend plans. I copied this look from one my friend found on pinterest (this one to be exact) and it was fairly simple to re-create!

What you will need:
White face paint
Black Face paint
2 or 3 different shades of grey eyeshadow
Black liquid eyeliner
small detail brush
Flat shader brush
Buffing Brush
Makeup sponge

My friend already had makeup on when I did this look so I applied over it but you can start with a bare face. I say this because she already had some bronze eyeshadow that I blended a little bit of grey into it in order to create a cooler toned eye look similar to the inspiration photo. I also added a little thicker liquid eyeliner wing.

To start apply white face paint all over your face, I found using a sponge made the application much easier. Also be aware you might have to apply a couple of layers to get an even white layer over your face. Next I mapped out the area for the eye, nose and stitched up cut. I then filled in the eye and nose with black face paint. Moving on to the cut I took my lightest shade of grey and blending out the line bringing it down towards her jawline. Once I was satisfied with the blending I went back in with a little bit darker grey eyeshadow and continued to blend. I repeated this process till I acheived the desired look.

I went back to working on the eye wanting to work my way down her face when it came to the liquid liner as to not accidentally smudge anything. Around the filled in eye I used the liquid liner to create the sort of abstract squares (I know I am terrible at descriptions). You could really do anything at this point there are a ton of examples out on the web and you can get really creative here. I filled in the squares with white paint then added dots into the squres using the liquid liner .

Moving back to the stitched up cut I used the liquid liner to go over the cut line I had created at the beginning. You want to start at the corner of your mouth and drag it up towards your hairline, the key is to make the line a little wavy and not perfectly straight. Once complete you can move on to adding the stiches by drawing on vertical lines along your cut line and be sure to add dots on either ends of the lines so they look more like "stitches".  You are also going to bring those same stitches down across your lips. And that's the look!  Like I said really easy to create and lots of room for your own creativity to shine through!

Here we are with our finished looks. (you can see more of my look here)

Cheshire Cat

Halloween Look

This year for Halloween I was inspired by this photo I found online of a Cheshire Cat Halloween look, I decided why not retreat it! This was a really easy look to do. The main focus is the large signature smile. I went pretty simple on my eyes just bringing the same purple and pink combo I used on my nose and cheeks through my eye sockets. If you felt really inspired you could do a full on dramatic eye look as well.

To get this look you will only need a couple of things...
1. White and black face paint - I found the water activated kind worked best and this was available at my local party supply store.
2. Black liquid eyeliner - I used the Elf liquid eyeliner.
3. Nude eyeliner pencil.
4. Purple and Pink Eyeshadow - You can do a combination of whatever you may have in your collection, I would stick to matte shadows on the face and nose and you can use shimmer more on your eyes.
5. Hot pink face paint/cream blush/ lipstick.
6. Brushes: Buffing brush, tiny liner brush, and flat shader brush.

I started this look out with my normal foundation/concealer routine. Next I outlined the shape of the mouth using my nude pencil. It was a little difficult at first to get the mouth symmetrical so I would definitely advice tracing it with the nude pencil first. Once outlined I mixed my purple and pink shadows and buffed it around the outside of the traced mouth. I then carried the purple/pink shadows up my nose. Think of it like you were contouring but with purple instead of a natural shade. For the eyes I buffed more of the purple eyeshadow along my crease making sure to connect the shadow along my nose and eyes.

Once  you are satisfied with the intensity of the purple you can move on to filling in your mouth. I found it easier to fill in the entire mouth with white paint and let completely dry prior to applying the black.

To get the look of teeth I outline the mouth with the black paint using a tiny eyeshadow brush and then shaped the teeth. To achieve a cartoonish look be sure and only curve the outer side of the teeth keeping the middle line straight.

For my nose I actually used a hot pink lipstick but you can use what ever is convenient. Apply the hot pink on the tip of your nose and then outline the top of your nostrils with the black paint or liquid eyeliner.

For the whiskers I placed clusters of three dots and happened to have a few stick on glitter whiskers from the halloween store but you could also draw these on as desired.

And thats it! A pretty easy look to create, throw on some cat ears and you have a last minute Halloween look!

Its been years since I have purchased any MAC products, which might seem odd seeing as I am constantly trying new things out but for some reason I never really buy anything from them. I recently received some gift cards and decided to pick up a few popular MAC products.

I also stumbled upon a great deal over on HSN, they had this set of benefit blush/bronzer for just $65 full retail for each one of these boxes $28 so you can see why I couldn't pass this one up! The only one I had tried before was Hoola and I have been wanting to get my hands on CORALista.

September BOXYCHARM

Runway Ready

HEY GUYS!  Welcome back! Its been a few weeks now since I have posted a video or really been able to work on anything related to my channel or blog. Our internet has been out and it was the most ridiculous and exhausting process to just get someone out to our house to fix the issue. It literally took 3 weeks. Needless to say I was super frustrated I wasn't able to work on anything.
I had already recorded and edited this video and still wanted to share what all came in my Septermber BOXYCHARM. I know this one is late but I should have my October box soon and will film that one as well.
