This year I have vowed to invest more time and effort into my skincare routine so i am constantly looking for ways of improving it. I heard about PMD a year or so ago and never really wanted to spend the money on the device. A while back one of my besties gave me a heads up that Michelle Money (youtuber/bachelor contestant/makeup artist) was having a 50% off coupon code for GetPMD.com . I pretty much immediately jumped online and picked the original version up. I thought I would do a little mini series on this device and share my thoughts and a few pictures on my skins improvement. This will be my first post which will give a little background on the device and my skin condition. AND because I'm feeling brave I'll share my barefaced before photos.

You might be asking yourself...what is PMD? Well its a microdermabrasion tool that promises professional level treatments at home. Microdermabrasion is an important part of keeping your skin looking healthy and young. Here is a little more information straight from the source.

"The PMD’s exfoliation and vacuum suction uncover younger skin through:
Patented spinning disc technology embedded with aluminum oxide crystals gently removes the top layer of dull, dead skin, referred to as the Stratum Corneum. These dead skin cells act as a barrier on the skin, and once they are removed, skincare products will be fully absorbed into the skin, resulting in maximum benefits. The tool’s vacuum suction helps stimulate, activate, and rejuvenate the skin. This suction also triggers the body’s production of collagen and elastin and it increases the skin’s cell renewal. An increased cell renewal is important because it generates new, healthy skin cells that are brighter, softer, and smoother."

I know these aren't the clearest of photos but it was at night and bathroom lighting is always terrible. Most of my discoloration, acne scarring, and enlarged pores are on my cheeks.

You use this tool on clean dry skin, to start you pull the skin tight and lightly run the tool over your face. You will feel a little suction on the skin but you should always keep the tool moving so you don't over exfoliate any section of skin. You should also do no more than 2 passes over your skin and treatments should be 7 days apart. Discs should be replaced once you notice them not being effective which is usually every 3-4 uses.

Benefits of this tool are softer, brighter skin along with reduces pore size , improving fine lines, wrinkles, acne, and hyperpigmentation. Using this tool also helps your skin care products like face serums and moisturizers sink into the skin and work better. I have done 3 sessions and already notice a huge appearance in the tone and texture of my skin. It takes about 8-12 weeks to see full results so I will probably show you my results at 4, 8, and 12 weeks in order to give a full review.

If you are a user of this tool I would love to hear your experience with it in the comments!
