Vacation

I am finally back into my normal routine after a month full of vacations. I thought why not share some of my recent travels with all of y'all.


Early in July we traveled to upstate NY to visit some friends. It is truly beautiful up their this time of year! Everything is green and the weather is sunny but not blazing hot like it is in Houston! We stayed in the Balston Spa and Saratoga Springs area which are chalk full of shopping, cute boutiques and fun local restaurants to eat at.

We payed a quick visit to the Yaddo Gardens before we left as well. Yaddo is an artist community that was first founded back in 1900, the house is still in use by artists today and is private property but the lovely gardens are open to the public!

The weekend after we got back to Houston I headed out on a girls weekend trip to Fredericksburg TX. My friends and I have turned it into something of an annual trip something I highly suggest if you live near the area. We stayed in a cute little house near town and spent the weekend visiting a few of the many vineyards around town. 

And finally we just returned from our most recent trip to Concan TX to float the Frio River. Its been ages since I have floated the river and it was such a blast! I didn't take to many pictures since we were on the river most of the time and with no cell service I didn't think to bring my phone. Here are a couple pictures I did get. 

Its been a busy and fun July but I am equally excited to spend some down time at home the next couple of weeks. Did you go on any vacations this summer? I would love to hear from you in the comments!

Cucumber Gel Mask

I have tried a lot of masks over the years but never any from Peter Thomas Roth.I continuously hear how he is the "king of masks" and decided to try out his very first mask the Cucumber Gel Mask. This mask is intended to help hydrade and calm agrivated skin but it also helps to detoxify cloged poors. I was most interested in using this over the summer because I heard is was great for to use on sun burns (It is formulated with Aloe among other soothing ingrediants).

 

 

All you do is apply a generous amount on clean skin and let sit for 10 minutes, then rinse off with cool water! You can also apply a thin layer and leave on overnight. My favorite way to use this is to pop in the fridge for a bit before using and you have an amazingly refreshing treatment for your skin. Over the 4th of July holiday I spent several days out in the sun and yes I did slather myself in suncreen but my skin was still left with that dried out irritated feeling from being in the sun too much. So I popped this in the fridge as suggested and it really helped to re-hydrate and soothe my skin !

 

I got the large size that contains 5 oz. it does come in a smaller size but the larger size is the 3x bigger for only $13 more than the 1.7oz size. Such a deal!

The Summer Box of Style by Rachel Zoe is the second box to come from this subscription service. It is a pretty brand spanking new service and one that really intrigued me when it was announce.
